Turkestan Cockroach Control

The Turkestan cockroach is an outdoor cockroach now common across the Southwest.

Recognizing the Turkestan cockroach

Females are about an inch long, dark brown to black with cream edging on short wing pads. Males are smaller, slender, tan to orange with full wings, and they fly to lights at night.

Because of their color and wings, males are often mistaken for American cockroaches.

Where outdoor cockroaches gather

  • Utility boxes

They live in water meter, irrigation and utility boxes around your yard.

  • Concrete and walls

You will find them hiding inside cracks in concrete and hollow block walls.

  • Outdoor lighting

Male Turkestan cockroaches fly toward outdoor porch and patio lights at night.

How Whiptail handles Turkestan cockroaches
