Answers to Common Questions

Clear information about our pest and termite treatments, scheduling, pricing, and how we care for homes across the Las Vegas valley.

Whiptail technician going over preparation instructions with a homeowner

Getting started with your service

Do I need to identify the exact pest before calling?

You do not need to identify the pest yourself. When you get in touch, simply describe what you are seeing around your property. Our technician performs a full inspection inside and outside to identify the specific pest, locate entry points, and find contributing conditions before recommending any treatment plan.

Which areas in the valley do you serve?

We serve residential and commercial properties throughout the Las Vegas valley. Our coverage includes Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, Spring Valley, Enterprise, Paradise, Sunrise Manor, Whitney, and Boulder City. Note that visits to Boulder City are scheduled on set weekdays, while outlying areas like Pahrump are not served.

What happens during the technician's initial visit?

The technician arrives in a marked company truck, wearing a Whiptail uniform with official identification. They begin by inspecting interior and exterior areas to evaluate pest activity. After completing the assessment, they explain their findings, recommend a service approach, and provide a clear price for your approval before work begins.

Do I have to be home during every service visit?

Our office explains access needs for each visit when booking your appointment. Interior treatments require access inside your home or property.

How do I request a service appointment?

You can contact our office by phone at (702) 000-0000 or submit an online request form. Submitting an online form does not automatically confirm a booking. Our office staff will call or email you during normal business hours to finalize a date and time.

Children, pets and treatment products

How are treatment products applied on my property?

Every product is applied strictly according to label instructions. Our licensed technicians target specific areas such as exterior perimeters, weep screens, and interior cracks or crevices where pests travel, avoiding indiscriminate application across open household surfaces.

What instructions will I receive before treatment day?

We provide written preparation and reentry instructions prior to your appointment. These documents explain how to prepare your home, such as picking up items from floors or clearing access, and outline specific steps to follow after our technician completes the application.

What about children and pets during treatment?

Homeowners are responsible for keeping children and pets out of treated areas. You must follow the written reentry instructions provided by our office for guidance on when household members and pets can resume using those spaces.

What steps are required before a flea or tick service?

Flea and tick applications require careful preparation, including vacuuming floors and laundering pet bedding. In addition, all pets in the household must receive treatment from a licensed veterinarian during the same week as our interior and yard application to address the full life cycle.

Are products applied inside every room of the home?

No, interior treatments are not performed broadly throughout the home. We use targeted crack-and-crevice applications, baits, or dusts inside wall voids only in specific locations where active pest movement or nesting is identified during the inspection.

Service plans and pricing details

What service plans do you offer for homeowners?

We offer three main plans: the Quarterly Home Pest Plan for year-round general pest maintenance, the Scorpion Plan featuring blacklight night inspections and visits every two months, and the Termite Protection Plan which provides annual monitoring after a subterranean termite treatment.

When do I find out the price of my service?

You always see and approve the cost after our technician inspects your property and before treatment begins. General pest estimates are free.

What happens if pests return between scheduled visits?

For customers enrolled in our regular service plans, if covered pests return between scheduled maintenance appointments, our technicians will return to re-treat your home at no additional charge.

What are the agreement terms for ongoing plans?

Service plans run for a 12-month term and renew yearly. You can cancel your coverage by giving 30 days notice to our office.

Are there special discounts available for new customers?

Yes, new plan customers receive $50 off their initial treatment when starting a Quarterly Home Pest Plan. We also offer 10% off one-time services for seniors and military personnel. Offers cannot be combined, and restrictions apply.

Termite inspections and treatments

Are termite inspections free for homeowners?

Yes, we offer free termite inspections for residential homeowners. However, formal Wood Destroying Insect (WDI) reports required for real estate transactions, lenders, or home sales are a separate, paid service quoted at the time of booking.

What are the common signs of termite activity?

Subterranean termites build pencil-width mud tubes along concrete foundations, slab cracks, and plumbing penetrations to travel above ground. Winged swarmers appearing in warm weather after rain or discarded wings on windowsills are also common indicators of activity.

How are subterranean termites treated?

We use liquid soil treatments around foundations, which may involve trenching and drilling through concrete slabs or patios. We also install underground bait and monitoring stations around the structure, or perform localized spot treatments when inspection findings support it.

Does Whiptail repair structural termite damage?

No, we do not perform structural repairs, wood replacement, or engineering evaluations. If termite damage is present, repairs must be handled by a licensed building contractor.

What warranty comes with a termite treatment?

Liquid treatments and bait installations carry a one-year subterranean termite retreatment warranty. If you sell your home, the warranty transfers to the new owner if the Termite Protection Plan is kept active.

Scheduling and follow-up visits

When are online requests answered?

Web form requests sent during regular business hours are usually answered the same business day. Our office staff will follow up by phone or email to confirm your property details and schedule a convenient visit.

What should I do in an urgent pest situation?

For urgent issues, such as wasps inside living spaces, a rodent indoors, a stinging insect swarm, or scorpions inside with small children present, call (702) 000-0000 directly. We fit urgent calls in whenever a technician becomes available.

Are pest issues always resolved in a single visit?

Not every problem is solved in one visit. Bed bug, flea, and rodent services include their necessary follow-up visits, and your technician will tell you how many to expect.

What are your office and service hours?

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Calls received after business hours go to voicemail and are returned the next business morning.

Do you provide services for commercial properties?

Yes, we service commercial facilities including restaurants, hotels, medical offices, warehouses, retail stores, and multi-family communities. Commercial accounts receive custom written agreements, detailed service reports, and scheduled visits suited to their operations.

Have a question not answered here?
