Summer nights in the Las Vegas valley bring out a variety of insects. Crickets are drawn to lights at night in summer and gather in large numbers during some years. Homeowners often find them near entry doors, on patios, and around garage lights. Our technicians answer many questions about why crickets appear and how our scheduled visits help reduce their presence around your house. We use an exterior treatment strategy that targets the areas where they hide during the day. You review the price and give us approval before any treatment begins.
Crickets around the foundation
When the warm weather arrives, cricket activity increases noticeably across the valley. Because crickets are drawn to lights at night in summer, leaving porch or landscape lighting on often brings them right to your front door. During the day, they seek cover in the yard. They frequently hide in landscape gravel and woodpiles near the home. Our team starts every visit with an inspection of the property to find these hiding spots. The technician identifies the pest and where it is coming from before recommending a plan of action.
Our Quarterly Home Pest Plan covers crickets, along with ants, cockroaches, spiders, earwigs, silverfish, centipedes, pill bugs, and wasps’ nests within reach. The quarterly plan starts with a service inside and out, followed by exterior visits every three months. We perform interior treatments on request during those visits. If covered pests return between scheduled visits, we come back and re-treat at no charge. The plan runs for twelve months, renews yearly, and you can cancel with thirty days of notice.
How our technicians handle treatments
Once the inspection is complete, we share our findings. We explain what we found in the yard and provide a price for the work. On many general pest visits, the first treatment can be done the same visit if you approve it. We apply products according to their labels and focus our efforts on the exterior of the house.
Our general pest approach includes an exterior perimeter treatment around the foundation, doors, windows, and weep screens. We use granular treatment in gravel and landscape beds where needed, which is where crickets tend to hide. We also place dust in wall voids and weep screens to reach pests hiding inside the structure. Sticky monitors are placed to track activity. Interior crack-and-crevice treatments are performed only where activity is found.
Customer prevention steps in the yard
Our exterior applications work best when paired with your efforts around the house. Prevention alone does not end an active infestation, but it plays a major role in keeping bugs away from the foundation. Customer responsibilities matter, and taking care of the yard makes a big difference.
- Keep gravel and woodpiles away from the house to reduce hiding spots.
- Fix leaks and drips to remove water sources near the walls.
- Keep your irrigation systems pointed away from the foundation.
- Trim plants away from walls to keep the perimeter clear.
Our office provides written preparation and reentry instructions before your treatment day. Customers must read and follow the written instructions carefully. Trimming plants off the house and keeping the garage tidy helps our technicians access the treatment areas.
