Roof Rats in North Las Vegas

A sample case study written for this demonstration website covering roof rat trapping and structural sealing in North Las Vegas.

A sample case study

This case study is a sample written to demonstrate this website. It describes real Whiptail services, but the customer and the details are illustrative.

The North Las Vegas situation

A homeowner in North Las Vegas reported scratching sounds near the ceiling at night. Marco inspected the roofline, attic access, garage and yard for signs of rodents and entry points.

Marco set traps inside, put locked bait stations outside, and sealed the entry gaps using steel mesh and sheet metal. We returned for the follow-up trap checks. Whiptail does not offer attic cleanup or insulation replacement services.

What our technician did

  1. Roofline structural inspection

We checked roof tiles, attic entry points and garage walls to locate gnaw marks, droppings and exterior entry points.

  2. Steel mesh exclusion

The technician sealed open exterior roof gaps and wall openings with steel mesh and sheet metal.

  3. Trapping and exterior baiting

We placed mechanical traps inside secure areas and mounted locked, tamper-resistant bait stations along exterior foundation walls.

  4. Follow-up trap checks

Our technician returned for scheduled trap checks to remove trapped rodents and monitor exterior bait station activity.

Current rodent status

The homeowner saw fewer signs of activity after the trap checks. The entry gaps were sealed, and the outdoor stations are still checked during regular visits to monitor the yard.

Keeping plants trimmed off the house is the responsibility of the owner, which helps reduce places where rodents hide.
